When will Southwest take off? With not-so-welcoming press recently, many are wondering if the low cost air carrier will ever really give Delta a run for its money. Several years ago the legislature gave Delta an extra break on fuel taxes while AirTran, soon to become Southwest, was left behind at the gate. Now Southwest cites fuel prices as just one of many reasons for their slow start in Atlanta. Not since the demise of Eastern Airlines has Delta enjoyed holding such an advantage in Atlanta. Loeffler to head SBA

Kelly Loeffler was the latest Georgian to be tapped by President-elect Donald Trump for a key role in his upcoming administration, in this case to head up the Small Business Administration.
