Kingston Survives
By far the most watched race of the night was the battle between Jack Kingston and Karen Handel to see who would face David Perdue in the runoff for the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate. David Perdue had been considered a lock for weeks, and despite a relatively tight start to the night, he locked up his spot fairly early. Kingston built up a substantial lead on Handel with his South Georgia roots and managed to hold on even as metro Atlanta rolled in and tightened up the race. Much will be written about the heavyweight matchup between the ‘outsider’ and the ‘establishment’ in coming weeks, but for now, tonight, Kingston and his campaign must be FLOATING…
