In the aftermath of the Tuesday GOP Senate primary that concluded with U.S. Rep. Jack Kingston and businessman David Perdue competing in the seven-week runoff campaign culminating on July 22, defeated Karen Handel supporter & TV personality Erick Erickson quickly endorsed the Savannah congressman.

All eyes will be on the major candidates who did not make the runoff to see where their endorsements, and in some cases more importantly, their activists and organizations go.

David Perdue’s relentless attacks on the “career politicians” may have created sufficient animosity among those candidates to prevent them from endorsing Perdue. Perhaps more important was Perdue’s quip as election results were rolling in that, “tonight we retired three professional politicians.”
