Senate Passes Water Bill

We’ve hit on this before, but it bears mentioning again now that the Senate has passed the Water Resources Reform and Development Act which the House passed earlier this week.  This bill, which now just needs to be signed off on by the President, includes funding for the Savannah Harbor deepening project, which has been a major point of emphasis for Georgia lawmakers.  A joint statement from Senators Johnny Isakson and Saxby Chambliss said “this economic engine will support hundreds of thousands of jobs each year while generating billions in revenue for the entire Southeast.”  Like the cargo ships soon sailing into the Savannah harbor, this news has the state is FLOATING…
