Georgia Unemployment Rate Rises

The unemployment rate for Georgia rose from 7.7% in July to 8.1% in August, a jump that surprised many experts who expected it to drop after summer workers were rehired.  The news comes at a bad time for Governor Deal’s team, who have been trumpeting Georgia’s economic growth as evidence of his effectiveness at running the state.  Expect Deal to downplay the news, and opponent Jason Carter to jump on it.  In a closer than expected race, this latest report sees Deal’s ship SINKING…
