SOS Under Fire Over Voter Rolls

The New Georgia Project and several other groups have sued the Georgia Secretary of State’s office and five counties for not processing over 40,000 voter registration applications.  Should the accusers prevail in their suit, the Secretary of State’s office would have to process all of the applications by any means necessary before the election.  The fact that there are less than 3 weeks before the vote makes this a tricky situation, but don’t expect the outcry against ‘voter disenfranchisement’ to stop any time soon.  In an election where the major races appear to be extremely close, the result of this lawsuit could prove to be the deciding factor.  For both sides the ship is DRIFTING…
