Savannah Ex-Police Chief Racks Up Pension $ From Prison

Former Savannah Police Chief Willie Lovett may be in federal prison for extortion and illegal gambling, but that’s not stopping him from collecting almost $130,000 per year from his pension while in the slammer.  Lovett is protected by a loophole disallowing pensions being stripped once they’ve been guaranteed, not even if convicted under federal law.  Savannah’s Mayor and other city officials are looking into options to right this wrong, but their hands may be tied.  SINKING…
