Any “Adoptable Dog”?
Remember when state Rep. Carolyn Hugley (D-Columbus) wanted to designate the gray fox as the official state mammal? While that bill is now in the Senate (after passing the House 163-2), Georgia could be seeing a new official state dog. State Rep. Joe Wilkinson (R-Atlanta) is the sponsor of HB 561 which doesn’t designate the state dog as a bulldog or another breed, but as any “adoptable dog”.
