State House GOP Speaker David Ralston, an attorney facing charges that he violated State Bar rules regarding client payments, made a shrewd move by hiring Georgia’s most prominent Democrat trial lawyer– former Gov. Roy Barnes– to defend him and to seek a possible settlement. It is smart because the Supreme Court-appointed “special master” in the case is Mark Dehler, a Democrat married to former Secretary of State Cathy Cox. Dehler will ultimately make a recommendation to the high court, which decides on any punishment. Former federal prosecutor tapped for Army post
Former U.S. Attorney Bobby Christine has been called up by the Trump Administration once again, this time to serve as Judge Advocate General for the U.S. Army. That would make him the head of the Judge Advocate General’s Corps, better known as JAG, the legal arm of the Army.
