The feud between Democratic Senate Whip Vincent Fort and Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed is hardly breaking news, but the latest twist certainly won’t help matters. Just prior to yesterday’s campaign event at Morehouse College, Fort announced that he was flipping his endorsement from Hillary Clinton to the surging Bernie Sanders, making him perhaps the most influential Dem in the state to do so. Georgia lawmakers back the Braves
As the Atlanta Braves continue their playoff battle with the LA Dodgers, a group of Georgia lawmakers are backing them in a battle of their own. U.S. Reps. Brian Jack and Lucy McBath, along with U.S. Sen. Raphael Warnock, have introduced legislation to extend a provision in the 2021 American Rescue Plan that would allow publicly traded organizations – like the Braves – to treat some of their high-salaried players like executives as a normal business would.
