Thompson named commissioner of new ethics board

Rick Thompson of Roswell has been appointed by the governor as a new commissioner to serve on the Georgia Government Transparency and Campaign Finance Commission (the former State Ethics Commission). In 2009 Thompson  resigned as executive director of the old commission saying it was an ethics panel “in name only.” However, it has been strengthened over the past year by the addition of new members and new regulations.
