Taxi drivers performed a noisy protest on the streets outside Atlanta City Hall Wednesday, circling the nearby roads and honking their horns. The display was in protest of the ride sharing companies that have encroached on their business in recent years, despite laws passed to make them conform to local regulations. Georgia lawmakers back the Braves
As the Atlanta Braves continue their playoff battle with the LA Dodgers, a group of Georgia lawmakers are backing them in a battle of their own. U.S. Reps. Brian Jack and Lucy McBath, along with U.S. Sen. Raphael Warnock, have introduced legislation to extend a provision in the 2021 American Rescue Plan that would allow publicly traded organizations – like the Braves – to treat some of their high-salaried players like executives as a normal business would.
