As the ownership of firearms that gun control supporters mislabel “assault weapons” have risen to all-time highs, the nation’s murder rate (with exceptions being some major cities like Atlanta) has fallen to an all-time low, and total violent crime has fallen from the late 1980s. In fact, the AR-15 semi-automatic rifle that is popular for home protection and hunting is often mislabeled an “assault weapon” in the mainstream media. So along comes the Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s SRBI poll which simply asked respondents if they favored “a ban on the sale of assault weapons” without defining the term. For such a slanted question, the AJC’s and SRBI’s professionalism is SINKING….
Kemp, Jones urge income tax cuts
Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp was joined this week by Speaker Jon Burns, R-Newington, and Lt. Gov. Burt Jones in calling for an acceleration of the state’s scheduled income tax cuts. Last year’s HB 1437 set in motion a reduction of the state’s income tax rate from 5.75% to 4.99%, to be rolled out over several years. But with a $16 billion surplus, Kemp said he will push to accelerate that process which could save Georgians $1.1 billion in 2024. The move would have Georgians’ wallets RISING…
