Georgia Congressman John Lewis, along with several of his Washington D.C. colleagues, was critical of President-elect Donald Trump’s pick for Attorney General, Alabama Senator Jeff Sessions.  Lewis and several of his compatriots in the Black Caucus, most notably New Jersey Senator Corey Booker, claimed that Sessions would “advance an agenda that would do great harm” to African Americans.  Sessions had his own supporters at the hearing, many of them black, who spoke in his defense.  Regardless of Lewis’ opinion, Sessions figures to be sworn in later this month, and his ship thusly remains RISING…
