Several Georgia Democrats tell InsiderAdvantage that tensions are increasing within their party over the drive by activists to move the party “further left” and the push-back by others to move more to the political center in order to appeal to independent voters that can help win elections.

An email yesterday calling for “resistance” from Chrystan Woods, Director of Organization and Outreach for the state Democratic Party, declared: “After the (6th U.S. Congressional District) runoff election last month, I debriefed with the Democratic Party of Georgia’s amazing minority outreach organizers and went straight to work training and planning for the next steps.” There you have it, complain moderate Democrats: Target minorities but, as far as white/independent voters, not so much.
