There were riots on the campus of Georgia Tech Monday night following the police shooting of transgendered student Scout Schultz, an apparent case of ‘suicide by cop.’ Schultz was caught on tape stalking toward officers with a knife, refusing to obey their commands to drop the weapon. He had left suicide notes and called 911 warning them of an individual matching his description before the incident. Protesters though thought that law enforcement acted rashly, arguing that it was another case of police brutality that could have been avoided. The riots, which quickly grew out of control and were condemned by the school, saw several arrests, an injured officer, and a police car caught on fire. National Rifle Association salutes Mike Collins
As campaign season ramps up, the National Rifle Association (NRA) is hitting the trail with its Gun Bus Battleground Tour, where it will visit 13 battleground states backing candidates it says are staunch defenders of the 2nd Amendment. One of those is here in Georgia in U.S. Rep. Mike Collins, running for U.S. Senate against Democrat Jon Ossoff.
