Longtime James Magazine contributor and practicing attorney Larry Walker is retiring from his position on the University System Board of Regents at the end of 2017. Walker, who served 32 years in the Georgia General Assembly including a stint as House Majority Leader, notified Governor Nathan Deal of his intention to step down earlier this year. The Perry resident has served in all manner of public positions over the years, including as a municipal court judge and a state transportation board member.
