The Amazon HQ2-to-Atlanta saga ended with a whimper this week as the tech giant announced it would be constructing its new headquarters in two locations – New York and Northern Virginia. Difficult news for Georgia’s top-rate economic development team, who spent months wooing the company. In the end it looks like they didn’t give Atlanta (or several other Southern candidates) much of a fair shake, but were seeing what tax breaks they could shake free before moving on with plan A. Falcons ranked 1st
The Atlanta Falcons have not made the playoffs since the 2017 season, an eon in football terms, but hope springs eternal for the franchise as it is projected to win its division behind new star quarterback Kirk Cousins and new Head Coach Raheem Morris. Whether that pairing bears fruit remains to be seen – but there is one aspect where the organization is ranked first in the league.
