A candidate forum for Savannah mayoral candidates Wednesday evening is grabbing headlines for all the wrong reasons. The event, organized by the Rev. Clarence Teddy Williams, barred white journalists from entry, with signs saying “Black press only” posted on the doors. Audio and video recordings were also disallowed. This was no small-time affair either, with big names in attendance including Former Mayor Edna Jackson, Chatham County Commissioner Chester Ellis, multiple Savannah aldermen, and a pair of announced mayoral candidates. National Rifle Association salutes Mike Collins
As campaign season ramps up, the National Rifle Association (NRA) is hitting the trail with its Gun Bus Battleground Tour, where it will visit 13 battleground states backing candidates it says are staunch defenders of the 2nd Amendment. One of those is here in Georgia in U.S. Rep. Mike Collins, running for U.S. Senate against Democrat Jon Ossoff.
