Cobb County has not escaped the opioid epidemic that has swept the U.S. in recent years, but one local police department is taking drastic measures to confront the issue. The Marietta Police Department has launched the ASSIST Team, which will follow up on opioid overdoses and try to convince survivors to seek treatment.
