Georgia chicken farmers have been rightfully concerned over what impact the president’s ongoing trade wars might have on their industry. It’s times like these that having a high profile friend in Washington helps. Last last week Agriculture Secretary and former Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue announced a $432 million aid package for the poultry industry to help mitigate some of the damage done by China’s retaliatory tariffs. While the amount specifically headed to the Peach State is not yet written in ink, it will presumably be a good chunk considering Georgia remains the nation’s top chicken producer. One of Georgia’s most prominent law firms is getting even bigger – with the announcement that Troutman Pepper is merging with Locke Lord, effective at the start of 2025.
