State officials and IAG contributors alike have preached the need to crack down on Georgia’s street gangs for years – and this week a big win was scored in that fight. A joint federal and local investigation in Marietta led to the capture of Tony L. Menefee, the leader of a Cobb-based gang known as “Dem Marietta Boys.” The arrest, which included a litany of drug and gun related charges, comes following a four year investigation that has netted 10 other arrests already. Loeffler to head SBA
Former U.S. Sen. Kelly Loeffler was the latest Georgian to be tapped by President-elect Donald Trump for a key role in his upcoming administration, in this case to head up the Small Business Administration. Loeffler will lean on her experience as a successful financial executive as well as her political background in leading the SBA, which doles out loans and provides regulatory support for millions of small businesses nationwide.
