Someone who assumes public office should also assume that he or she will face criticism. Nevertheless, Superior Court Judge Eric Norris in Athens is facing a state ethics investigation after he summoned a local bail bondsman — who criticized him on Facebook– to his office and then intimidated him. The judge is accused of using the opportunity to “chastise and berate” Nathan Owens for blasting the judge for allowing a rape suspect to leave jail without bond.
