A low U.S. Census return rate thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic could be bad news for Southeast Georgia, where millions of dollars in federal funding could be lost out on if population numbers are underreported.  As of now just 54.1 percent of Glynn County residents have completed the census form, while Brantley County has a 39.1 percent response rate, and McIntosh County is at 25.8 percent.  A study from George Washington University estimates local municipalities receive about $2,300 annually for every person counted, so underreporting can cost counties greatly.  Officials are scrambling to find ways to increase the response rate by its new deadline of October 31, but such low totals have them DRIFTING…
