The Cartersville Medical Center this week announced that it collected 47 pounds of medications during its “Crush the Crisis” opioid take-back day, exceeding the total from the previous two years combined. Georgia Democrats had a mess on their hands in the 11th Congressional District outside Atlanta after the party nominated Katy Stamper, later finding out she wasn’t a Democrat at all and had far-right political leanings. So they launched a write-in campaign promoting Tracey Verhoeven as the ‘real’ Dem in the race. It didn’t matter in the end as U.S. Rep.
