With the average price of lumber quadrupling and the average price of a house up nearly $36,000 as a result, Speaker David Ralston (R-Blue Ridge) has created the House Working Group on Rising Costs of Construction Materials. This is just one of several working committees that will meet throughout the summer to prepare for the 2022 Legislative session.

“We know that the rising costs of construction materials pose a threat to our continued economic recovery,” said Ralston. “I am appointing this working group to look into why these costs are increasing and recommend any solutions which may alleviate this burden on those building for the future.”
