Chatham County District Attorney Shalena Cook Jones is taking a hard stance against gangs in her district, announcing last week her Racketeering and Organized Crime Coalition (ROCC), which will focus specifically on curbing gang activity and other forms of organized crime.  The move comes on the heels of a deadly first half of the year in and around Savannah, much of it attributed to gangs.  The coalition will facilitate better communication between law enforcement agencies as well as with the general public, because according to Jones stopping gang violence requires not just the law, but “community-based prosecution.”  Taking tangible steps toward combatting a major issue in Chatham Co. has Jones RISING…
