A lawsuit challenging Senate Bill 9, which split the Augusta Judicial Circuit, was rejected by a judge Monday, allowing the new judicial circuit to split as soon as the end of this week.  The bill will create the new Columbia Judicial Circuit, leaving Richmond and Burke counties behind.  Critics said such a move was unconstitutional, violating the rights of Columbia County residents, but Senior Judge Adele P.
