Ex-Georgia Insurance Commissioner Jim Beck was sentenced to more than seven years in prison on 37 counts of wire fraud, mail fraud, money laundering and tax fraud for embezzling more than $2.5 million from the Georgia Underwriting Association in Suwanee prior to being elected in 2018.  Beck served just months of his four year term before being indicted, though he still received his nearly-$200,000 salary while under suspension as the proceedings played out.  No more – with Beck headed to prison his ship has officially SUNK…
