The Georgia Working Families Party, the local chapter of a New York-based liberal advocacy group, waded into Georgia’s recent round of runoffs and came out on top.  The group backed three new Atlanta City Councilmembers – Liliana Bahktiari, Jason Dozier and Antonio Lewis, as well as Khalid Kamau, the new mayor of South Fulton and a self-avowed democratic socialist.  It claims to have knocked over 7.5k doors & sent nearly 322k text messages, making nearly 100,000 voter contacts in Kamau’s race alone.  If Atlanta politics take a leftward tilt (even moreso than before) – this is one of the reasons why.  The WFP’s influence in Georgia is RISING..
