Suspended Georgia Court of Appeals Judge Christian Coomer was hit with a $25,000 ethics fine this week for violating the state’s campaign finance laws, specifically misusing campaign contributions for personal use.  The fine was the largest ever levied by the state ethics commission, which looked into transfers made starting in 2015 when Coomer was a Republican state Representative.  He also was at one point under investigation by the GBI for fraud claims made by a former client, an issue which was settled out of court.  For now Coomer remains suspended (with pay), but his future as a judge is DRIFTING…
