There appears to be yet another push to pass gaming legislation in the 2022 General Assembly. A bill that would have asked voters whether the Georgia constitution should allow mobile sports betting passed the Senate last year but later stalled. In recent years unsuccessful attempts have been made to pass bills allowing casino gaming, local option pari-mutuel horse racing and sports betting— or a combination of the three. Interestingly, House Speaker David Ralston says it’s time for the General Assembly to consider gambling legislation. “I think there’s been a lot of discussion on that issue over the interim,” he said. “And we’re still discussing some possible solutions, which will have broad appeal to members of both parties and from all areas of the state.”  The odds of seeing movement on gaming legislation this year are RISING…
