The Georgia House of Representatives voted 98-63 in favor of advancing a bill that would create a new city of East Cobb in Cobb County, which could go before voters as early as this May. Critics, mainly Democrats but a handful of Republicans as well, say the process is moving too fast and that voters won’t have time to learn all the facts.  Not so, counter GOP leaders, who continue to push the point that voters should have the right to decide for themselves how they’d like to be governed.  Will that same line of thinking apply to similar cityhood bills (especially Buckhead City)?  The East Cobb legislation still has a few hoops to jump through, including a Senate vote, but with broad Republican support its odds of passing are RISING…
