Yesterday we wrote that former Georgia Rep. Calvin Smyre’s ambassadorship nomination had run out of steam as it expired at the end of the legislative session. But good news dropped as the new session began, when President Joe Biden re-nominated Smyre for ambassador to the Bahamas, sending his name straight back to the Senate for its approval. Hopefully this time it moves forward a little quicker, and with bipartisan support from Georgia lawmakers the nomination’s odds of being approved are RISING…
