Over the weekend residents of some of north Atlanta’s suburbs woke up to find anti-Semitic pamphlets in plastic bags on their driveways.  Included among those was state Rep. Esther Panitch, D-Sandy Springs, a freshman legislator who also happens to be Jewish.  Rightfully incensed, she took first to social media then to the House floor, sponsoring a bill that would define anti-Semitic acts as hate crimes.  She immediately received bipartisan support, notably from Republican Speaker Jon Burns who called the flyers “repulsive.”  So for whatever racist group was handing out pamphlets it appears their plan has backfired – with Democrats and Republicans immediately coming together to strengthen penalties against their actions.  The swift response has state lawmakers RISING…
