Macon’s Middle Georgia Regional Airport is getting a major facelift in 2024, including a $30 million runway expansion and a new air traffic control tower that will allow for larger planes and additional passenger flights.  But the headliner is the “High Note Aviation” facility that will house the airport’s operations center and be constructed to look like a guitar when viewed from the air.  The building will not only be a major upgrade for the growing airport but also a unique nod to the region’s rich musical history.  Legendary performers such as Otis Redding, James Brown and the Allman Brothers have called Macon home, and visitors will be reminded of that fact when they fly into the newly renovated Middle Georgia Regional Airport.
