In a bombshell revelation, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis is accused of hiring a lover to oversee the prosecution of former President Donald Trump and financially benefitting from the arrangement.

The filing by attorney Ashleigh Merchant on behalf of former Trump campaign official Michael Roman seeks the disqualification of Willis and Nathan Wade– her alleged lover and outside “special prosecutor—as well as the entire DA’s office from any prosecution of the former president.

Wade has been paid roughly $654,000 in legal fees (taxpayers’ money) by Fulton County since January 2022, a chunk of which he used to pay for extravagant vacations with Willis, the filing claims. (Willis authorized the payments.)

Willis and Wade “have been engaged in an improper, clandestine personal relationship during the pendency of this case, which has resulted in the special prosecutor and, in turn, the district attorney, profiting significantly from this prosecution at the expense of the taxpayers,” the filing reads.

Citing “information obtained outside of court filings,” the document holds that the funds given by Fulton County were used on tickets to vacation destinations in Florida, California, the Caribbean and two cruise lines.

Another part of this emerging scandal is that Wade filed for reimbursement for expenses relating to a White House meeting in 2022 where he strategized with members of the Biden administration on how to prosecute Trump and his political allies. Wade’s billing entries provide proof of the Biden administration’s coordination and orchestration of “lawfare” against its principal 2024 presidential opponent.

The filing also criticizes Wade’s qualifications to even be a prosecutor in this RICO (anti-racketeering) case against Trump, Roman and other defendants. It emphasizes that he has never even prosecuted any felony cases.

“Clearly, there’s an urgent need for all criminal proceedings in these (Fulton County Trump) cases to be halted until a complete and thorough investigation can be conducted regarding the specific allegations of misconduct and perhaps even criminal conduct, on the part of DA Willis and Nathan Wade, along with others that aided them in this alleged scheme,” says state Republican Party Chairman Josh McKoon.

A Willis spokeswoman says that the DA’s office will respond to Roman’s allegations “through appropriate court filings.” And Wade, as this is written, has not responded to requests for comment.
