Atlanta-based Gray Television is expanding – and finally entering into its home market. News broke Monday that the media giant would be purchasing 17 television stations from Meredith, including CBS 46 and Peachtree TV, two local Atlanta stations. While Gray already owned stations in Savannah, Augusta, and Columbus, the move would mark the first time it has entered into the Atlanta market. Gray most recently purchased Raycom in 2019, and Quincy Media earlier this year, now giving it top-rated television stations in 79 markets across the country, and is in 113 markets total. Under the watch of Hilton H. Howell, Jr., Gray continues to be one of the fastest RISING media companies in the U.S.
State Farm Arena a box office draw
Downtown Atlanta’s State Farm Arena is quite the box office draw. How big? From October to to March, State Farm brought in $76.2 million across 60 events, making it the third-highest grossing venue in the entire nation, behind only New York’s Madison Square Garden and the Sphere in Las Vegas, and fifth globally.
