A noteworthy inclusion in the FY24 budget was $1.25 million for the Georgia Department of Public Safety to establish and operate a Georgia State Patrol satellite post in the Buckhead area of Atlanta. Speaker Jon Burns was joined by state leaders to announce the new law enforcement office, which will accommodate 20 officers and include a Nighthawks DUI task force. Downtown Atlanta’s State Farm Arena is quite the box office draw. How big? From October to to March, State Farm brought in $76.2 million across 60 events, making it the third-highest grossing venue in the entire nation, behind only New York’s Madison Square Garden and the Sphere in Las Vegas, and fifth globally.
