An effort to give Gov. Brian Kemp enhanced pardoning powers is dead on arrival. Republican supporters of former President Donald Trump have pushed for the legislature to move to give the governor additional authority to pardon individuals convicted of crimes – potentially including Trump and others indicted this week by Fulton Co. DA Fani Willis. But such a maneuver would require a constitutional amendment and thus a 2/3 majority from the legislature, meaning quite a few Democrats would have to get on board. Proposed Fulton Co. property tax hike
Fulton County homeowners let out a collective groan Monday following the announcement that property taxes will be increasing by more than 12% over the rollback millage rate.
