This weekend, our sister publication, GaPundit.com, published a series of audio interviews by Jeff Breedlove with the major candidates for the Republican nomination for United States Senate, including the question of where each would locate their offices. This is an important question, as Metro Atlanta will surely host one office, but the location of other offices tells you a lot about what the candidate thinks is important geographically – both for their campaign, and for representing the state of Georgia.
And frankly, I think it tells you something about how good each candidate speaks on his or her feet.
What really surprises me is that the candidates with the best answers, David Perdue and Karen Handel, are not among the current Members of Congress in the race, though Phil Gingrey does earn a point for naming more Georgia cities than anyone else.
David Perdue – Warner Robins.
Jack Kingston – no answer.
Paul Broun – no answer.
Phil Gingrey – no firm answer, possibly Milledgeville, Macon, Columbus, Savannah, Bainbridge, Dalton, Dahlonega.
Karen Handel – “I think the Valdosta area would make sense… the Macon area, Middle Georgia… then North Georgia.”
