This week not only heralds the start of the Masters Golf Tournament in Augusta— the hottest ticket in the sports world— but also the 57th annual Red Carpet Tour hosted by the state Chamber of Commerce and the Department of Economic Development. Dozens of national and international business leaders are invited for the first week of every April to be part of the tour, a premier event designed to showcase Georgia’s thriving business community for potential industrial locations or existing company expansion.

Since its inception, the Red Carpet Tour has generated over $3.2 billion in revenue for the state, and it is estimated that over 15,000 jobs have been created through the location or expansion of companies whose executives have been guests on the statewide tour.

The four-day, invitation-only event traditionally begins in Atlanta with a briefing by the governor. Guests are paired with an existing Georgia industry leader. This makes it easy for business prospects to receive first-hand accounts of what it’s like to operate a business in the Peach State.

The highlight of the tour is Thursday– attendance at golf’s most storied championship. Industry prospects not only see some great golf but learn more about Georgia’s business climate and opportunities around Georgia’s second largest city.
