All hail the Mercer University men’s basketball team! A week ago, few across America even knew that Mercer University existed. Then the Bears stunned mighty Duke in the first round of the NCAA tournament. Even though they subsequently lost to Tennessee, Mercer put themselves on the map and made the state proud. The Macon branch of Mercer, with an enrollment of only a few thousand, has been the toast of ‘March Madness.’ RISING!
