By a vote of 33 to 19, Senate Republicans approved a resolution authored by Sen. Brandon Beach asking the U.S. Congress to condemn the socialist New Green Deal introduced by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y. Proponents wanted to get Democrats “on the record” to see which ones like the socialist proposal that eliminates gas-powered vehicles, including airplanes, and mandates a costly, radical expansion of emissions-free public transportation. Questions linger over Atlanta City Hall investigation
An ongoing investigation into former Atlanta Municipal Clerk Foris Webb III is hitting roadblocks, as city employees are delaying or rejecting interviews by the inspector general. Webb received more than $900,000 in consulting fees from the city for his “work” on a referendum meant to block the city’s law enforcement training center, dubbed “Cop City.” That referendum got held up in court, never wound up doing anything, and the center was built, but Webb continued to cash a $35,000 check each month.
