By noon today reliable sources to fight through a storm were packed throughout metro-Atlanta. With over 40 counties declared a part of a “state of emergency” by Governor Deal, supermarkets were flooded with patrons where cars waited in line to park and shopping carts were sparse. Home Depot’s flagship store in Vinings was overrun with patrons seeking everything from flashlights to heating oil.
The brunt of the storm, which will appear in two parts, is expected to come late Tuesday night into Wednesday. That’s when ice could accumulate on power lines and roads, potentially creating a dangerous situation in the northern half of the state.
