Three former Atlanta Public School educators who were part of the infamous cheating scandal were re-sentenced Thursday, receiving reduced sentences of three years apiece, down from their original punishments of seven years in prison. Additionally, the number of years each of the former educators will spend on probation was reduced from thirteen years to seven.
Judge Baxter stated that he wanted to feel more “comfortable” with the sentencing he handed out, indicating that with retirement looming in the not-so-distant future, he wanted to be “without regrets”.
