A harassment claim by a city employee against former Brookhaven mayor J. Max Davis and a subsequent cover-up is damaging his campaign in a special July 14 election to state House District 80 and has led to the departure of disgraced city attorney Tom Kurrie. Last Friday the city released documents that revealed false statements were issued by both Kurrie and Davis about the complaint and that a relevant document had been altered. Furthermore, the city attorney held back documents regarding his investigation of the February incident, violating the state’s sunshine laws.
