Sources in Augusta tell InsiderAdvantage that the name Georgia Regents University will again be the topic of a possible name change during tomorrow’s University System Board of Regents meeting.  The Regents name came when Augusta State University and the Medical College of Georgia merged in 2012, creating a community backlash when the name ‘Augusta’ was dropped from the new title.  InsiderAdvantage is told that there is growing support to change the name of the University to include the name ‘Augusta’.
