The Stone Mountain Memorial Association’s governing board, which leases the state-run park to a private company to administer its commercial assets, is catching it from all sides over a proposal to erect a bell tower monument on the top of the Confederate memorial to honor civil rights leader Martin Luther King. Several board members have told InsiderAdvantage, however, that this plan has not been approved by the memorial association board and that it might even be tabled.
