The Atlanta City Council Monday approved the sale of Turner Field and the surrounding property to Georgia State University and its financial partners.
Following a 13-0 vote, (with one abstention from Keisha Lance Bottoms who heads up the authority overseeing the sale) the measure will move on to the Fulton County Commission, which must approve the sale as well before the University can move forward with its plans.
